Find my life path numberWhat numerology is
Numerology is the practice of finding meaning in numbers drawn from your birth date and name. Its roots are often traced to the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who taught that numbers underlie everything, and the modern Western method took shape in the early twentieth century.
Unlike astrology, numerology needs no birth time or place. A few simple sums are enough, which is why the Life Path number is one of the most searched personal numbers online.
How to calculate your life path number
Reduce the month, day and year of your birth to single digits separately, then add them and reduce again. For example, 14 July 1990 gives 7 for the month, 1 + 4 = 5 for the day and 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1 for the year. Adding 7 + 5 + 1 gives 13, and 1 + 3 gives a Life Path of 4.
If a total lands on 11, 22 or 33 along the way, it is kept as a master number instead of being reduced. Your Birthday number is simply the day you were born, and your Personal Year combines your birth day and month with the current year.
What your WORLD DESTINY numerology reading shows
Your result shows your Life Path number with master numbers recognised, your Birthday number, and your Personal Year for this year and next. If you enter a name in Latin letters, the reading adds your Expression number, which converts each letter to a value from 1 to 9.
If you enter a name in Hangul, you get a Korean name sound reading (eumnyeong-ohaeng) instead, which links the sound of each syllable to one of the five elements. As with every tradition on the site, you can compare shared themes with your other charts, ask preset or free AI questions, save a PDF, or share an image card with no personal data.
What the numbers mean
Each Life Path number has its own theme in the tradition: 1 is linked with independence, 2 with cooperation, 3 with creativity, 4 with steady building, 5 with freedom, 6 with care, 7 with reflection, 8 with ambition and 9 with generosity. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are read as heightened versions of 2, 4 and 6.
Personal Years move in a nine-year cycle. Year 1 is associated with fresh starts, the middle years with growth and effort, and year 9 with wrapping up and letting go before the cycle begins again.
Your Birthday number is read as a particular talent you bring to your Life Path, and your Expression number, taken from the full name, describes the abilities and style you show to others. When the numbers echo one another, numerologists see a clear, consistent theme; when they differ, the reading points to different sides of your personality that you can draw on at different times. Korean name sound reading works on a different principle. Each initial consonant in a Hangul syllable is linked to an element, so a name becomes a short sequence such as Wood, Fire, Earth. The tradition looks at whether neighbouring sounds feed one another in the five-element cycle, which is read as a smooth, harmonious flow.
Accuracy notes
Numerology uses only your birth date and name, so there is no birth time to worry about. For the Expression number, use the full name you most identify with and spell it consistently. All sums are calculated in your browser, and neither your name nor your birthday is stored. Read the numbers as themes to reflect on rather than predictions.
